Its honestly way to early to worry about Jimmie Johnson not being a contender for the championship this postseason. Furthermore, while his stats are nothing to really brag about, especially this early on in the season, he is far from the only driver that is struggling to put together good finishes right now.
Not only that, there’s also the fact that Chevrolet drivers are still getting used to their new machines and we honestly don’t know what the end result will be when the bugs are worked out. With that being said though, there is one big problem with The Hendrick Motorsports drivers stats this season and is mostly has to do with the playoffs.
While getting to the playoffs might not be an issue right now for Johnson, his performance in two of the ten races that make up the postseason is a indicator that he might be behind the eight ball when it comes to those races. Of course one of those races was due to wreck and was completely out of his hands, but he didn’t really mount the comeback he has been known for either.
