#9 David Ragan
David Ragan is that rare kind of bad. The kind of bad that you can only sit there and gawk at while you try to wonder how someone that was gifted opportunity after opportunity could fail so spectacularly when it’s time to prove himself worthy of what he was given. Unfortunately for Ragan, that was what happened to him early on his Cup series career and he really hasn’t recovered from it.
Of course it’s not all bad and Ragan did capture the checkered flag in the 2011 Coke Zero 400 with Jack Roush, but that was a kind of a fluke due to the chaotic nature of restrictor plate racing. He did follow that up in 2013 with a win at Talladega Superspeedway, but still hasn’t won on a non-restrictor plate track throughout his career, which only adds to the controversial nature of his career.
