Let’s be honest here.
A win in any of NASCAR’s top three series is an accomplishment all in itself and is usually indicative of future success in the sport. However, it can also serve as a moment that exposes a driver if they are never able to follow up on that success and parlay it into something else. In fact, there are several drivers in the illustrious history of NASCAR that fall into that latter category.
With that being said, there are a variety of reasons why a driver would fall into that category and the unfortunately, the reasons aren’t always a clear cut as fans would like. For example, a driver might win a rain shortened race or win a race at a restrictor plate race that several other drivers were taken out of, but never be in the same situation again.
A driver could also win a race by intentionally taking another driver out, which has been the case in several instances over the year and never reach the same level of success afterwards.
