Pros and Cons Of NASCAR’s Controversial New All Star Race

Pro: Setting a precedent.

One of the biggest advantages of this new All star race created by NASCAR is the fact that it allows the sport to test the idea of restrictor plates at mile and half tracks at The Cup level, which could set up the possibility of NASCAR implementing them at more tracks. Not only would doing so increase the excitement factor for fans, it also allows could leave racing up to the driver like never before.

Of course i don’t think NASCAR should go crazy and add restrictor plates to every mile and half track in the playoffs, but it definitely wouldn’t hurt if NASCAR maybe had one in each round.  In the end, hopefully NASCAR will get some good data from this race and decide to make more races as fun as Talladega and Daytona are.
