Bruan Strowman survived an onslaught from seven other superstars to win The Money in The Bank briefcase and now the question is when exactly with The Monster in the bank be cashing in for a title opportunity. Of course some in The WWE Universe are hoping the answer to that question is soon, but it seems like that isn’t really in the cards right now for WWE.
According to Dave Meltzer from The Wrestling Observor one option is for Roman Reigns to defeat Brock Lesnar at Summerslam and then have Strowman cash in on Reigns after the match. Not only would the move allow for Reigns to get a babyface reaction for getting screwed out of the title he just won, it will be a good way create an unpredictable nature around the match.
Whether WWE is actually able to get away with putting Reigns in the title picture again without fan backlash remains to be seen, but if his matches at Backlash and Money in The Bank are any indication, the answer to that question is a resounding no. In fact, having Reigns be the main event once again could severely hurt WWE at one of the big four pay per views.
As for Strowman, it seems like the plan would set up Reigns versus Strowman for the fall months and then maybe then WWE can transition into giving Finn Balor or Seth Rollins a title shot against The Monster among men. WWE could also give Reigns another chance with the belt if they wanted to, but the results could be disastrous if they do.
With that being said, a number one’s contenders match has already been announced for The Universal Title at Extreme Rules and while all the participants haven’t been named as of yet, Reigns and Lashley were named as the first two superstars to take part in the match by Raw General manager, Kurt Angle.
