NASCAR: Five Drivers Worth Rooting For And Five Drivers Not Worth Rooting For in 2018

Worth rooting for: Darrell Wallace Jr.

This young kid might have a lot to prove when the season starts at Daytona, but with his great string of finishes subbing for an injured Aric Almirola  in 2017 and his consistency in the Xfinity Series, it goes without saying that Darrel Wallace Jr may just be the future of the sport. Of course it may not all happen at once and Wallace will have a few growing pains to go through along the way, but he could seriously make this team a title contender soon!

Although Darrell Wallace Jr has yet to win at NASCAR’s top two levels, he did  earn three top 20 finishes while subbing for Aric Almirola, including a 11th place finish at Kentucky. He also had seven top-ten’s in The Xfinity Series, which includes a string of five straight top ten finishes. Unfortunately for Wallace Jr, sponsorship was a problem with the team he was racing for and he eventually lost his ride.

Interestingly enough, he was running fourth in the standings when he lost his ride. If nothing else, this proves that Wallace Jr is a legitimate contender, a fast learner and someone who could set The Cup Series on fire!
