NASCAR: Five Drivers Worth Rooting For And Five Drivers Not Worth Rooting For in 2018

Not worth it: Chase Elliott

Before everyone jumps the gun, and comes over to my house with pitchforks, please keep in mind that Chase Elliott has been winless for the last two years in The Cup Series and many of his colleagues including Austin Dillon, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Kyle Larson, and Ryan Blaney have all gotten their first win before Chase Elliott and seem to posses skills that he himself does not.

Of course some are going to point to the fact that he is continuously screwed out of the win, but they don’t mention that he doesn’t seem to have the killer instinct to take it himself. That was evident during many of Chase Elliott’s last minute losses and it will most likely continue to be evident throughout the 2018 season as well.

With that being said, it is ultimately up to the fans to determine who to root for, but if you don’t care about your mental health and want to relieve the trauma of watching win after win slipping away, then by all means, continue to root for one of the biggest busts in NASCAR history.
