Disappointments. Danica Patrick’s last race.
Maybe the expectations were too high or maybe she just didn’t have the right equipment to run with the top guys in The Daytona 500, but it was still extremely disappointing to watch Danica Patrick wreck out of her last NASCAR race. What the situation even worse however was how little respect fans had for her after the incident.
While fans usually cheer or clap when a driver wrecks out of a race, especially a bad one, fans seemed almost jovial at the fact that Patrick’s career was over. It was almost like they had no respect for her or her career at stock car racing’s highest level and they were going to let her know that. Unfortuantley for Patrick it came at was arguably her lowest moment.
In the end, NASCAR fans didn’t have a lot of respect for Danica Patrick and it honestly didn’t seem like she had respect for the sport at times either. It just seemed like NASCAR was just supposed to be another notch in her resume and that she contributed nothing to the sport. Of course one could argue that she brought young fan girls into the sport, but where are they now that they’re supposed hero is gone?
