Disappointment: Matt Kenseth
While one would think a NASCAR veteran coming back to the sport after being forced into an early retirement would bring a lot of fans back, it just hasn’t. Of course that could be due to the fact that it’s a Matt Kenseth versus more popular retired drivers like Dale Jr, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon and Danica Patrick, but his lackluster performance isn’t helping things either.
Not only has Kenseth failed to capture a top-five a top-ten over even lead a lap so far this season, he also hasn’t finished above 13th either. With that in mind, a lot of that could not be his fault and could be indicative of problems at Roush Fenway Racing, it his performance hasn’t made it any better.
In the end, it doesn’t feel like the team is learning anything by switching drivers and should just pick one and go from there. At least that way Roush Fenway Racing can learn to sculpt a set up to one particular driver’s needs, but also to build on things from there. That’s what RFR needs right now and it starts with pick one driver over another!
