Former Monster Energy Cup Series Champion Set To Make Retirement Announcement During The Offseason?

Its been a tough couple of seasons for NASCAR fans.

Of course a lot of that has to be the never ending sea of changes by NASCAR Officials in order to find that perfect balance between traditional racing and something that is thrilling for younger fans, but NASCAR has also lost several top stars over the past few years as well. Unfortunately for longtime NASCAR fans they were faced with the retirement of Danica Patrick, Matt Kenseth, and Dale Earnhardt J this season and it looks like more are on the way.

With that being said, it is worth mentioning that former Cup Series champion and runner up in the 2017 Championship Final four, Kyle Busch hinted at retiring from the sport at the end of his post race interview. While its not known whether he was serious or not, especially only minutes removed from watching a second championship slip through his fingers, but it will be interesting to see if Busch makes any updates on this from there.

“If I don’t retire first.” a dejected Kyle Busch said after being told by a reporter that they was looking forward to seeing him race at Daytona in February in The Daytona 500. What makes the comment made by Busch even more interesting is the fact that Busch likes to be playful with his fans and haters and could very well just be trying to induce panic and keep eyes glued on the sport until February.

Not only is that a pretty good way to leave things at The Cup level, It also would enable Busch to compete more often in The Camping World Truck Series and Xfinity Series and maybe even race for a few championships as well. It would even allow him to chase his 100th Xfinity Series race and help prepare Xfinity Series youngsters for The Cup Level by testing them on a weekly basis.

What are your thoughts? Will Kyle Busch retire from The Monster Energy Cup Series and what will he do if he does? Also, do you believe Busch has accomplished enough at The Cup level to retire for good? Let us know in the comments below!
