Another way the course is history making is the fact that i t will be the first road course featured in NASCAR’s playoff history and could even lead to more playoff schedule changes in the future. In fact, if NASCAR finally ended the debate to have a road course in the playoffs and just went out and did it, one can only imagine what other changes are on the way.
Maybe NASCAR will finally realize that Talladega is not a safe track to have a playoff race at and finally swipe it from the schedule too. Maybe NASCAR could even take Martinsville out of the playoffs and put the Bristol night race their instead. Finally, maybe NASCAR could finally give NASCAR fans a proper season send off by making The Daytona 500 the last race of the season.
