#3 Refusal to move the event.
Another problem with the event is that NASCAR has for years refused to move it to another track. While one would think that NASCAR would want to do this, especially since it opens up the possibility of the event being held at a track like Talladega, Daytona, Bristol or even Martinsville, they are adamant that the sports best place is the best place for the event.
With that being said, and no headway being made towards moving the event somewhere that can offer more excitement, why not just scrap the entire thing altogether? In the end, fans are going to realize sooner or later that its the layout of the track that is hurting the excitement factor of the event, but most fans will probably be gone by then.
