#4 Less money
Speaking of a week off, ending the monster that is The All Star race could actually end up saving the sport a lot of money in the long run. Not only do they not have to find advertisers for an extra event, they also don’t have to try to beg fans to pay outrageous amounts of money in order to attend the event, which saves money as well.
If you think about it, why would NASCAR waste their time trying to bring in fans for an event, no matter how exciting they try to make it out to be, just to try to bring fans back the next week for a longer event at the same track? It doesn’t make any sense at this point economically or for the health of the sport, so why bother!
