Five Problems With Chase Elliott’s First Win That NASCAR Fans Can’t Ignore

#2 playoff implications.

While Chase Elliott’s win does guarantee him a spot in this year’s playoffs, that might not be the best thing for Elliott right now. In fact, with Chevrolet continuing to struggle mightily to stay competitive and only two Chevy team’s currently locked into the playoffs, its very likely that Elliott isn’t going to last long against The Fords and Toyota’s once the postseason starts.

Another reason that it has next to no playoff implications is the fact that there is only one road course race in the playoffs, which means that Elliott’s win is applicable to the majority cookie cutter tracks that are featured in the playoffs. Sure there are two short tracks a road course and a restrictor plate track, but that only accounts for 40% of the playoff  schedule.
