Five NASCAR Teams That Should Split Seat Time Between Two Drivers

#5 Ryan Newman

Ryan The Rocket Newman has spent 19 years in The Monster Energy Cup Series and has now spent the last four of those years at Richard Childress Racing. While Newman definitley has a few more wins in him, especially after coming close to a championship in 2014, the team would probably greatly benefit from transitioning Childress’s grandson, Ty Dillon, into the car.

Childress has already talked about having his two grandkids race in The Cup Series at RCR and Ty Dillon splitting seat time with Newman would be the best way to do that.  Of course they should probably wait to see whether Newman actual makes the playoffs this season or not, but once Dillon’s contract is up with Germaine Racing, they really need to ease him into the ride.
