NASCAR has already had to play the bad guy multiple times this year with penalties and other infractions incurred  by drivers and teams, but it now appears that they must do so once gain after it was revealed that several Cup Series car were found after the race to have unsecured lug nuts. With that being said, the penalties probably won’t be all that earth shattering due to the fact that NASCAR has only handed out fines in the past.

According to an article from,”The No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota of Hamlin (finished fourth), the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Toyota of Truex Jr. (finished fifth), the No. 12 Team Penske Ford of Ryan Blaney (finished 16th), the No. 22 Team Penske Ford of Joey Logano (finished 19th) and the No. 17 Roush Fenway Racing Ford of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (finished 23rd) were all found to have one lug nut not secured post race.”

Whether NASCAR will choose to fine these drivers respective crew chiefs remains to be seen, but it will definitely be something to follow as the week goes on and as race teams prepare for battle at California next Sunday. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below!
