Five NASCAR Drivers That Are The Future Of The Sport and Five Who Aren’t

Aren’t: Daniel Suarez

Believe it or not, this has nothing to do with his performance on the track. In fact, the reason why Daniel Suarez will never be as beloved as someone like Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty or Tony Stewart, is because fans don’t want him to be. Unfortunately for Suarez, who is a legitimate threat behind the wheel anywhere he races, NASCAR fans are still in a place where other races aren’t very popular with them.

While some might take this as going way to far, you have to remember that this sport is only two years removed from a rebel flag incident that only made them look worse in the media and The flag is still seen in the infield every single race weekend. With that being said, its very likely that Suarez will never get the respect he deserves from NASCAR fans due to his heritage.

Another reason Suarez doesn’t exactly scream future of NASCAR is due to his unfortunate luck with sponsorship. Suarez already lost Subway after being seen passing out donuts during a press race show in 2017 and while the media chalked it up to the company just wanting to get out of their deal with the team due to poor performance, Suarez still proved that he isn’t exactly what fans or sponsors are looking for.
