#1 Jimmie Johnson.
Believe it or not, Jimmie Johnson, a seven time champion and one of the most successful drivers in NASCAR history, isn’t guaranteed a spot in the playoffs yet. While this definitely wouldn’t have been the case a couple of years ago, he currently finds himself 15th in the standings and only has a 92 point lead over the cut off line.
Of course 92 points is a lot to make up for anyone and will be difficult for anyone to do, but if two drivers manage to get a win in the next three races, they will knock Johnson out of the playoffs. In the end, its a complicated title picture that sees Johnson being forced to play both offense and defense and even then he doesn’t control his own destiny!
