While The WWE Universe were probably hopeful that the company would learn from their mistakes and try to make things better in the future, that apparently isn’t going to happen and their rumored plans for Summerslam prove it. In fact, the latest rumor of how The Universal Title picture will unfold in the coming months is indicative of WWE not learning their lesson at all.
According to Dave Meltzer from The Wrestling Observer, it seems like WWE wants to do Roman Reigns versus Brock Lesnar at Summerslam and might even have Reigns finally win The Universal title. Of course he also speculates that WWE wants to have Strowoman cash in on Reigns at the end of Summerslam, but having Reigns versus Lesnar again is not what the fans want to see.
Not only is that evident by the way The WWE Universe has been reacting to Reigns’s storylines lately, but also by the fact that WWE has already had this match two times this year and the fans hated it the first two times. In the end, WWE really needs to consider putting someone else in the main event of Summerslam or risk fans losing interest at a crucial point in the year.
In fact, with options like Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins Bruan Strowman, Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin all as viable candidates to take on Lesnar at Smmerslam, one has to wonder why WWE would even try to do Lesnar versus Reigns a second time. It almost seems like WWE is either unwilling to try something new or hasn’t learned their lesson yet.
